Pure Resort Westendorf

The Dutch concern of Mountain Residences focuses on the development of luxury apartments, chalets and hotels, mostly in Alpine regions. PURE Resort Westendorf is one of the recently developed resorts. Mountain Residences collaborated there with Inspirium.

Eefje Swaghoven–Van den Oord is project manager at Mountain Residences and, from the office in Nuenen, she tells us about PURE Resort Westendorf and the collaboration with Inspirium. “PURE Resort Westendorf was formerly named Windau Lodge and had 20 apartments and a restaurant. We greatly expanded the existing part with 38 luxury apartments, suites and top-end facilities that include a parking garage, fitness room and a luxury wellness area with an infinity pool on the roof. The new lobby with bar connects the existing part with the new part. The total transformation also encompassed the restoration of the restaurant and existing apartments so that they together formed a harmonious unity.

In close consultation with the interior designer

The luxurious ambience, Alpine elements in a contemporary design and the use of many natural materials give the resort a modern, exclusive look. Eefje enthusiastically describes how the interior was created : “For the refurbishment, we collaborated with interior designer, Hans Kuijten. We’ve worked with him for many years and together we determined the look & feel of this resort. An interior plan was then made and furniture selections were carried out with Hans Kuijten”.

The choice for Inspirium

Choosing partners was the next step. Mountain Residences had previously worked with the hospitality furniture partner and that’s why they were approached for this project. “We laid out an open story and said that we would like others to carry out the project entirely. We were looking for more than tables and chairs. And that’s how they pointed us in the direction of Inspirium. By hooking up with Inspirium and their partners, it was possible to receive broad assistance”.

Taking over the load

PURE Resort Westendorf largely owes its look to the furniture, beds, bed and bath linen, and curtains to partners of Inspirium. But that’s not all. Eefje: “One of the partners took on most of the project coordination. Not only did they supply products, but they also took the burden off our shoulders here in Austria. All products came from the Netherlands, and they were fully responsible for installing the project, from furniture to curtains”.

Joint approach

“The advantage of Inspirium is that the partners know each other and are used to working together, and communicating directly and quickly. When you approach partners separately, you never know how well they are going to work together”. It is ideal for clients when the different parties can perform as one. Like when suppliers are really driven to do the project together. And that also goes for Mountain Residences, as Eefje says, “It’s certainly valuable for us with big remote projects, where we have to trust that everything runs and operates according to the planning. We also think it important that we click with individual parties, and that they feel this click among themselves as well. And that click was there absolutely; the collaboration was very worthwhile”.

“As a developer, it is in our interest to use a party that takes care of our business.”
